How Magelo recommends
This page explains, step by step, where Magelo’s information comes from and how a recommendation is made. We want every answer to be traceable: which data was used, how fresh it is and what it is based on.
1. Products and prices
Products and prices come from the retailers themselves: official product feeds that the shops publish through affiliate networks, and live product interfaces where a shop offers one. Feeds are imported every night; some shops are queried live at the moment you search. Every offer shows the shop, the price including shipping where the shop provides it, the condition (new or refurbished) and when the price was last checked.
Magelo only shows shops that deliver to your country. Prices can change at any time; the price on the retailer’s page is always the one that counts.
2. Price history and deals
Magelo records a product’s price every time it changes. This history is used to judge whether a price is good: a “deal” label needs a real reduction compared to the shop’s earlier price or the recommended retail price, and Magelo shows when a price is the lowest in 30 days. We do not show invented “was” prices.
3. Specs
Specifications come from the retailers’ product data and the manufacturers’ published figures. On our product pages, specs are the manufacturer’s published values; where we are not sure about a figure, we leave it out rather than guess.
4. Reviews
Magelo does not test products in its own lab. Review sections summarise points that are commonly raised in professional reviews and are clearly labelled as a summary. Magelo does not invent scores, quotes or reviewer names. Where we cite specific reviews, we link to them.
5. How products are ranked
When you ask Magelo, an AI model reads your request (use, budget, preferences), searches the offers from the shops, and compares the most relevant products on specs, price including shipping, availability and what reviewers generally report. The top pick is the product that fits your situation best, not the cheapest or the most expensive one. Without a budget, Magelo looks for the best value rather than the lowest price.
Commissions play no role: the AI does not see which links earn money, and retailers cannot pay for placement.
6. How AI is used
The assistant uses AI models by Anthropic (Claude) to understand requests, compare products and write the answer. The AI only recommends products that are actually offered by the shops in the results. AI can make mistakes, so every answer shows its sources: the shops searched, the offers compared and when prices were checked.
Product summaries, guides and comparisons on this site are written with the help of AI and checked and published by Peter Scheel, who is responsible for them.
7. Affiliate links
Some retailer links are affiliate links (for example through Awin and the bol.com partner programme). If you buy through one, visseo may receive a commission from the retailer. Your price stays the same. Links are marked as sponsored for search engines.
8. Freshness
Shop prices are refreshed at least daily. Each page shows when it was last updated, and offers show when their price was last checked. Pages are reviewed when products change, for example when a successor is released.
9. Corrections
If something on Magelo is wrong, please write to contact@visseo.info. We check every report, correct the page and update its date.
