About Magelo
Magelo is an independent AI shopping assistant for consumer tech. You describe what you need and your budget; Magelo compares products, reviews, prices and shipping at retailers in Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands and recommends what fits.
What Magelo does
Most shopping sites show you everything and leave the decision to you. Magelo works the other way round: you describe your situation in your own words, for example “a light laptop for uni with all-day battery under €900”, and Magelo searches the shops, compares the options and explains its pick. The detective character Mister Magelo stands for that idea: look closer than the headline.
Besides the assistant, Magelo publishes product summaries, shopping guides and comparisons for popular tech.
Who is behind Magelo
Magelo is built and run by Peter Scheel in Antwerp, Belgium. Peter is responsible for the content and the recommendations on this site. Magelo is operated by visseo, Peter’s sole-proprietor business (Belgian company number 1043.274.788). Full legal details are in the imprint.
Independence and money
Magelo is free to use. Some links to retailers are affiliate links: if you buy through one, visseo may receive a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay stays the same. Retailers cannot pay for a better ranking, and commissions are never part of how products are ranked. How recommendations are made is explained on How Magelo recommends.
Countries and retailers
Magelo is built for Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands, with prices in euros. It only shows shops that deliver to the visitor’s country. The current list of shops is on the retailers page; more are being added.
Status
Magelo is in its pilot phase (version 0.x). Features, shops and pages are being added step by step.
